The Army Corps convert Manhattan Javits Convention Center

New York officials announce on March 30, 2020 that the renovation of 1,800,000 square feet of the Javits Convention Center in Manhattan, New York is completed and open to serve as an alternate care facility for more than 2,000 non-covid19 patients. “This effort would not be possible without the phenomenal teammates of The Army Corps of Engineers in the state of New York, the city of New York, the New York National Guard, FEMA, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the General Services Administration, as well as the Defense Department and the armed forces”,  spokesman Michael Embrich said.
